Privacy Policy
This policy explains what TimeWalkies collects, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make postcards of your dog and deliver them to you, we don’t sell your data, and you can leave — with your data deleted — whenever you want.
What we collect
Photos of your dog that you upload, and the AI-generated postcards made from them. Account details: your email address, your dog’s name, your timezone and preferred delivery time. Billing status: your subscription state from our payment provider — never your card details. Service records: which postcards were generated and emailed to you, and basic logs needed to keep the Service reliable. Approximate location: we record an approximate city from your IP address. Photo description: a short AI description of your dog, made from your photo (see “How your photos are used”). Device and how you found us: the type of device, system and browser you use, and the page, referring site or campaign link that first brought you here.
How your photos are used
Uploaded photos are stored privately and used to make your dog’s postcards, and for two more things. When you upload or replace a photo, (1) an automated system checks that it will paint well — for example, that your dog is easy to see — and (2) an AI service (OpenAI) looks at it once and writes a short description of your dog: breed, size, coat colors and photo quality. We use that description to write more thoughtfully when we reply to your messages, and to choose which emails are relevant to you. We keep a record of the quality check’s outcome (an issue category and timing, never a description of you or your photo) so we can improve the guidance we give at upload time. To create the artwork, your photo is sent to our AI image providers (OpenAI, and Google when a fallback is needed) with an instruction describing the historical scene; the quality check is run by the same kind of provider. We don’t use your photos to train models or for advertising.
Who processes your data
We rely on a small set of processors to run the Service: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (hosting and page analytics), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), PostHog (product analytics, error tracking, and support chat), and OpenAI/Google (image generation, and OpenAI also describes your dog’s photo and helps draft replies to support messages). Each receives only what it needs for its role.
Advertising measurement and your opt-out
When you arrive from one of our ads on Meta or Google, we tell that platform when you claim your postcards or become a paying customer, so we can measure which ads work. We send the ad click identifier from your link and, for a purchase, its amount. For Meta, we also send a hashed (scrambled) copy of your account ID and your browser type. If you have confirmed your email address, Meta also receives a hashed copy of it. We never send your IP address, your photos, your postcards, or your dog’s name. We send nothing if you did not arrive from an ad, if you are outside the United States, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. To opt out of advertising measurement at any time, email hello@timewalkies.com from your account’s address.
We send transactional email (sign-in links, your daily postcard, billing notices) and occasional product email. Every non-essential email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects sign-in links or postcards you’ve paid for.
Retention
Generated postcards are kept indefinitely. Anonymous sessions that never claim an email are deleted automatically.
Your rights
You can see your account details and postcards in your dashboard and settings. You can correct your details in Settings, unsubscribe from marketing at any time, and opt out of advertising measurement. You can also ask for a copy of anything else we hold about you, or request full deletion of your account — including photos, postcards, and email history — by writing to hello@timewalkies.com. Deletion requests are honored within 30 days. Depending on where you live, these rights may be backed by laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we apply the same standard to everyone.
Cookies
We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in and to keep your anonymous gallery attached to your browser before you claim it. We also set one first-party cookie on your first visit that records how you arrived (the page you landed on, the site or campaign link that sent you), kept for 30 days, so we can understand which links bring people to us. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not use advertising pixels; ad measurement happens between our servers and the ad platform.
Changes

Language
This policy may be offered in several languages for convenience. The English version governs: if a translation and the English text ever disagree, the English text controls.
